Bowbrook School aims to provide a high-quality science education that provides the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. We want our children to recognise how science has changed our lives and is vital to the world’s future prosperity, therefore the development of children’s experimental and investigative skills are of vital importance.
Children will be encouraged to be independent and collaborative scientific investigators by their involvement in exciting practical investigations. Children will be taught essential aspects of the knowledge, methods, processes and uses of science through stimulating and engaging science lessons.
Children will explore, observe, problem solve, predict, critically think, make decisions and discuss.
Science lessons at Bowbrook will aim to provoke a sense of excitement and curiosity about natural phenomena. Children will be encouraged to understand how science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.
Teachers will make extensive use of our outdoor grounds including our habitat area and we look forward to visitors and trips to enhance our science curriculum.
