Every Tuesday we welcome Jess from Relax Kids to share her yoga practices with us. The process involves movement exercises, social games, stretching, peer or self massage, breathing exercises, affirmations and relaxations including visualisations, mindful and autogenic exercises, all elements of which are evidence-based and play an important part in self-regulation.

Core strength, mindfulness and listening skills are all part of our weekly yoga sessions. Thanks to Relax Kids, we live our yoga time!

Part of our Dreams come true week has given us visits from lots of inspirational people and parents. Today we have been so lucky to welcome Captain Tamsyn Hogan, Hunter’s mummy, in to talk to us about her job as a helicopter pilot and coastguard and how she helps people.  We then designed paper helicopters and carried out some investigations.

We’ve had a super week with visits from Search & Rescue, the school nurses and a firefighter! We learnt how to keep ourselves safe and what to do if we find ourselves in danger.  What a brilliant start to our Heroes in the Community week!

What a lovely Christmas Lunch we all had together with a party afterwards. Santa even made a visit! (it’s a shame Mr Aiston missed him!)

We had a wonderful time visiting our friends at Coleham Primary School for their Christmas Parade.  We loved seeing all the characters and animals from the Christmas nativity story.

We had a spooky time at Bowbrook’s first disco. Hope everyone got to sleep at night!

A huge thankyou to Mr. Sibu for demonstrating incredible pumpkin carving skills this morning. Our children were inspired and became very creative with creating their own pumpkins for Halloween.

We had a fun, muddy morning at the Pumpkin Patch choosing our pumpkins ready to carve and decorate.

we heard lots of rich vocabulary including comparative language, colour identification and shape descriptors.

Reverend Charlotte came in this week and delivered an assembly about how the animals in her garden squabble and she wishes there was a peacemaker. She talked about a dove being a sin of peace for Christians. She asked if the children could be peacemakers for their friends sometimes.

At Bowbrook , communication and language is the heart of everything we teach.

Each Monday is singing assembly, we learn a new nursery rhyme with the makaton signs. This enables all children to be able to take part and join in.

This week, we learnt Miss Polly had a dolly.

Today our children have been broadening their understanding of technology and working on their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Richard Smith from Amazing ICT visited our school and the children programmed and coded various robots.

Amazing ICT are back next month for Nursery Rhyme week when they will be using green screens to support the children’s storytelling and inspiring their writing!

Today we have visited the Safari Park. It was our first ‘big’ school trip and we loved it! The children were so excited and had great fun. This trip will form the basis of some of next week’s writing.

Our children represented the school brilliantly!
