There is no need to book, simply turn up ready for the performance.

Coming up next week

Next week we look forward to our Nursery Rhyme Week.  Rhyming and awareness of Rhythm helps develop speech and early reading skills so it’s important we get involved with this initiative.

We look forward to welcoming parents/carers into school for Tuesday’s Stay and Play.

For Tuesday’s Fancy Dress the children are welcome to bring in £1 to support Children in Need next week.

Coming Up Diwali Celebration Day

On Friday 10th November we will be celebrating Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights in school.

We’ll be having a special themed lunch that day.

Our Grand Opening

What a day!  Thank you to so many of you who came to support us and watch Georgia and Finley cut the ribbon and officially open Bowbrook Primary School.  Such an historic moment!  Thank you to Shropshire Council, the 3-18 Education Trust, the DFE and our friends at Keystone Academy for joining us.  The rain didn’t dampen our spirits and we were so proud to spend time with our families and our new school community.  We all had a great time!  Here’s to the first of many community events!

Bakers lend a hand

At Baking Club this week the children made Rocky Road tray bakes for our Grand Opening on Saturday. Well done Dragonflies, they’ll go down a treat!

Safari Park Trip

Caterpillar & Dragonflies are off to West Midlands Safari Park.

To complement this term’s big question “Where will my shoes take me?”. The children have shown a keen interest in animals, with this in mind we are taking them to the safari park.

The visit will take place on Friday the 6th of October, departing school at 9.15am and returning around 3.15pm. If we encounter any significant delay on our return journey, we will do our best to keep you informed.

The cost for this trip is £24.50, which includes the cost of entry, transport and insurance. Payment for this trip should be made via your child’s Arbor account prior to the date of the trip, further communication about payment will be sent over the new few days. Although costs for trips are voluntary, in reality the school has no other means of funding these trips. We hope that everyone can contribute to the trip in some way.

Nursery children will need to bring a packed lunch, Reception children will be provided with a packed lunch. All children will need to bring water bottles. Please also ensure that they wear school uniform and have a lightweight coat with them. We will not be visiting the souvenir shop so no additional spending money is required.

Please note that this visit is covered by the Annual Consent Form for Trips/visits & Medical Information. Please notify the school immediately if there are any changes to your contact/emergency contact details or medical information.

Our Grand Opening Event

Don’t forget it is our Grand Opening event on Saturday 30th September.  Please invite all of your neighbours, friends and family so we can make it a day to remember!

We will have an official ribbon cutting ceremony and speeches at the front of school at 1:00pm before we move around to the back of school for all the fun of the fair.

Bowbrook Bakers

Mrs Woosnam’s Baking Club started this week and we got to use our Design & Technology room for the first time! What brilliant little chefs they were 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳

Our First Day video

What an historic moment!  Thank you to all our families and children for a wonderful first day.

Grand Opening

We will be celebrating our new school at our Grand Opening event!

Put the date in your diaries and invite all your friends and relatives.

Our lovely Administrator

If there is anything at all you need help with please reach out to Sarah.  Sarah will be outside each morning and evening to answer any questions you may have.

You can also reach her on our new school phone number 01743 816891

Sarah is also our master baker! What a fabulous cake and goody bags she made for our first day at school.

Meet Doug

You will get used to seeing Doug around as he helps us with digital media and branding.  He produced our First Day at School video.

We are really lucky to have him, he’s fantastic at capturing smiling faces and also designed our school logo and website.

Our logo shows the meadows and brook surrounding our school and the butterfly symbolises our children spreading their wings in the world around them.

Some fun facts about Doug:  he can build anything! He designs and makes theatre props, restores old cars and has a love for retro biscuits!

Headteacher Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have had a fantastic start to life at Bowbrook. The children, parents and staff have been tremendous and there are so many exciting times ahead. We have had a few teething problems from payment systems to leaking toilets but this is to be expected and has had no impact on the provision for the children.

We are priding ourselves on being a school of opportunity and want our children to have a wealth of experiences that are exciting, fun and also takes them out of their comfort zone. We have put a calendar out of some of the activities we have planned and there will be many more to come.

Next Friday (22nd September) we are welcoming parents to come into the classrooms after pick up and have a wander around the classrooms and whole school at your leisure.

Please get in touch if there are any issues or feedback. Have a great weekend.

Mr Aiston

Headteacher Welcome Letter

Dear Parent/Carer,

It is nearly time! After all the anticipation and a fair amount of hard work, we are ready for your child’s first day at Bowbrook Primary on Thursday 7th September. The staff and myself are thrilled to finally open our doors. I know as a parent you will be excited but also maybe slightly anxious; I assure you that everything is in place and our experienced staff will ensure that your child has a wonderful first day.

Dropping off your child

Breakfast Club is open from 7.45am. If you are attending Breakfast Club please come to the main entrance at the front of the school where you will be met by Mr Aiston and Mrs Woosnam. Children not attending Breakfast Club should arrive between 8.40 and 8.50am where they will be met by Mrs Davis, Mrs Madden and Mrs Forrester at the front entrance to their classrooms. Your child will be taken into the classroom where they will be supported by our staff. We will look to keep it as relaxed as possible so it is not overwhelming.

We are encouraging children to walk, cycle or travel on scooters but understand that you may need to drive. If you are coming by car, you are welcome to come on site and drop off on our car park located next to the school building; obviously be mindful of other parents doing the same.

Collecting your child

Children should be collected from their classroom at 3.20pm. The class teacher will hand them over to you via the external doors. If your child is attending After school Club they should be collected from the main entrance anytime between 3.30 and 5.30pm.

This is a historic moment and we have the Shropshire Star visiting us to capture it. We will also post pictures on class dojo and via social media.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. This is the start of a tremendous journey and I can’t wait.

Yours Faithfully,

S Aiston

Nursery Home Visits

Classrooms are painted!

So our upstairs classrooms now have doors, painted skirting board and gorgeous feature walls. So exciting to see the colour pallette in the flesh! Next week the suspended ceilings are going up and then carpet tiles being laid.  It is great to see the progress each week after years of planning.

Headteacher Message

Welcome to our June Newsletter.

A lot has happened this month. We have met our Reception 2023-24 parents at our Information Evening and then the children who will make up the first ever class for Bowbrook Primary at our Stay and Play. Like our staff, they are so excited and can’t wait until September.

We have already planned so many events and activities for the Autumn term, forest school, swimming, theatre trips, Illustrator visit and career talks are just a few things on offer.  We most definitely are going to be ‘the school of opportunity’.

The building is looking great and I have shared some photographs further on in the newsletter. Enjoy the sunshine and please keep following what we are up to on our website and Facebook. Also, get in touch if you want your children to join the Bowbrook family as we still have some spaces available in Reception and Nursery.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Headteacher Message

Hello everyone

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather.

I have visited the school today and it is coming along brilliantly.

We began our induction for our new Reception class on Thursday and it was great to meet the parents, answer questions and share all the opportunities that we have planned for the children in the Autumn term.

Our staff have been busy speaking to illustrators, authors, members of the emergency services, music specialists and computing experts to ensure we have lots of visitors to enthuse the children in school. We have also begun planning trips and organising events for the whole community.

Everyone is so excited to start in September and begin laying the foundations of ‘building successful futures’ for the first class of children at Bowbrook Primary.

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 07791368599 or e-mail me on sam.aiston@bow318education.co.uk
