Headteacher’s welcome

Welcome back everyone

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. We have been hearing all about what everyone has been up to and the presents that the children received and the presents that they gave to their family.

The new term is under way and it has been a wonderful start. There are quite a few new starters in Nursery and we welcome our new families. I have no doubt that they will love being part of the school community that we are growing.

To cope with the increasing demand, we are looking for some new support staff to work in our Nursery and someone to help out across dinnertimes, both on the kitchen and supporting the children.

There are lots planned for the next few weeks. The children have already been to Think tank in Birmingham and next week we are looking at the roles people have in the community as part of a week focusing on heroes. If anyone would like to visit and speak to the children about their job then please get in touch.

It is a pleasure to be the Headteacher of the school and I am excited about the learning and the opportunities that we have coming up.

Any issues then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Three Kings Celebration

How lovely it was to join Mia and celebrate Los Reyes Magos.  This celebration in Mexico takes place on January 6 and honors the Three Wise Men or Magi who came to bring baby Jesus gifts after his birth.  We read a book to help us learn information about what and why people celebrate. We then had a delicious treat of a piece of Roscon de Reyes cake where someone found a hidden baby Jesus.

Thinktank Birmingham

We love leaving Shropshire behind and Reception children had a brilliant day out to Thinktank in Birmingham! 💡
We made comparisons between the city & our town before we even arrived at the museum! We loved seeing the tall cranes and skyscraper buildings. 🏗️
Followed by exploration of the human body and the natural world, a play in Mini Brum (the role play village) and challenges set for us in the Imagination Playground – it really was the perfect day. ⭐️

So, what next?
Our children were clearly inspired by Mini Brum so watch this space gor Mini Bowbrook coming soon!

The children love Dance and are preparing for a performance at the Theatre Severn!

We have a range of After schools this half term.

Phonics

Every morning we do Phonics with the children. This is a highly effective way of teaching the children to decode words and as a result be able to read fluently and confidently. At Bowbrook the scheme we use is Unlocking Letters and Sounds.
