Headteacher’s Update

The second year for Bowbrook Primary has begun!

It seems so much busier as we have at least 3 times as many children and lots of new staff. Miss Laura Shelbourne has joined Mrs Woosnam in the office. We have Mrs Long, Miss Stone and Mrs Timmis as new Teaching Assistants and Miss Hollis as the Year 1 teacher. We also have Mrs Jones who has joined us as the SENDCo and Madame Jones who is now our Spanish teacher. All have settled in really well and will be a huge benefit to the education of your children.

There are many new starters amongst the children and they are finding their feet. Ambitiously we started football club, dance club, forest school etc in the first week so apologies if your children came back with the wrong socks, book bags or trousers! This first few weeks are about establishing rules and routines and developing relationships. We are well on the way to doing all of that.

We are determined to provide wonderful opportunities for your children and have already had the Circus in school – it did not go exactly as planned but the children had a great time which is the most important thing. We have also started our Spanish and Music lessons which the children have thoroughly enjoyed.

We have made a big effort over the summer to improve our outdoor area and the children have already enjoyed the new equipment that we have.

As always if there are any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Swimming

Swimming has began for Kingfishers at Shrewsbury School.  Swimming is a valuable life skill and we believe in teaching it as early as possible!

Spanish Lessons

Hola!  Welcome to Ms Jones our Spanish Teacher who has joined us this week!  The children will now be receiving Spanish lessons in school!  We are all very excited about this!

The circus came to Bowbrook

This week the circus came to entertain the families of our community. Despite the weather meaning that we were unable to host the circus outside, we were able to hold it inside.

The children loved it and we love any event that brings our families together in our school.

Forest School

Forest School

Caterpillars loved their first visit this term to our forest school. We explored our new surroundings, then went on a bear hunt. Lots of amazing vocabulary and fun.

Let’s Dance!

Dance Club has started! Mrs Madden and her dancers are back in action with some new additions. We are lucky to have Mrs Madden teaching our children and hopefully some of our little ones will get the chance to represent our school on stage in the future.

Our sensory room

We are passionate about mental well being and providing different areas for our children whether that be calm zones, sensory areas or reflection areas. We have developed some wonderful spaces for our children that we are all benefitting from.
