Headteacher update

The Christmas build up has started.

Nativity practice is underway; there’s nothing better than hearing the children singing when you are in a school and I know that our first ever Nativity is going to be wonderful.

We are getting a Christmas tree delivered next week and we will be switching the lights on next Friday evening and would love it if you are able to pop along for a mulled wine with us all.

Projects that we have on the go at the moment include the library and our outdoor area outside the classroom. Plans have been drawn up, resources ordered and work will be underway shortly.

We had our first school photographs done this week with mixed results. There are some beautiful pictures that I am sure parents will love and there are some staff ones that will be going in the bin!

We love Science at Bowbrook

‘Supersonic Sue’ the scientist came to visit us today to explore light.

We saw how the electricity in a Plasma ball lit up a bulb, held special beads tight that changed colour when exposed to the light, made glow in the dark slap bands to keep us safe, and wore special ‘rainbow’ glasses that let us see all the colours in light.

At the end we made Polymer that changes colour in the light!

It was great fun observing, describing, asking questions and making something new. What great scientists we are!

We are really looking forward to the festive period and making sure the children have lots of opportunities to celebrate and have fun. We cant wait for our first Christmas at Bowbrook.

Teamwork

In Assemblies we have been talking about teamwork. We have discussed examples from the animal kingdom including penguins, killer whales, meerkats and geese.

The children are really progressing in terms of co-operating and achieving a common goal.

We love our music sessions

We are continuing to explore different sounds with our music teacher, Mrs Porrett. The children love experimenting with the different instruments and discussing what they can hear.

Book Fair

We are having a Book Fair in school from 27th to 30th November. This is a chance to come and purchase some books for your children whilst raising some money for the school.
