Headteacher update

What a first term. I can’t believe that the first 8 weeks is over.

We have an incredible time and whilst we will enjoy our week off, we are excited for the next half term and the run up to Christmas.

We are immensely proud of the school, the culture, the community we are creating. I know this is just the beginning but so many things are in place to ensure this school provides a fantastic education to our young learners.

Looking back through all our posts, I am thrilled to see the opportunities that the children have had. We will sustain this and live up to the ‘school of opportunity’. The children have made great progress in a short space of time. Their reading, writing and maths has progressed extremely well and the books, data and observations reflect this. However, what is harder to measure is the children’s progress in their personal, social and emotional development but we can see how this has developed and we are so proud of our little ones.

Have a great half term everyone.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next Monday.

Our Art Exhibition is open

A fantastic afternoon for our little artists, showcasing their work from this half term.

We have loved exploring different artists such as Iris Scott and Henri Rousseau and the process of creating the artwork has taught us so many valuable skills.

Boo-tastic Boogie!

We had a spooky time at Bowbrook’s first disco. Hope everyone got to sleep at night!

Pumpkin picking!

We had a fun, muddy morning at the Pumpkin Patch choosing our pumpkins ready to carve and decorate.

we heard lots of rich vocabulary including comparative language, colour identification and shape descriptors.

Pumpkin carving with Mr Sibu

A huge thankyou to Mr. Sibu for demonstrating incredible pumpkin carving skills this morning. Our children were inspired and became very creative with creating their own pumpkins for Halloween.

Super swimmers

At the start of the term, we took a class of nervous but excited Dragonflies to their first swimming sessions. We had refusers, first time swimmers and those already attending lessons.

Fast forward 6 weeks and we now have a class of children who will ALL enter the pool, put their face in the water and let go from the side with at least one hand! We are so incredibly proud of the children’s perseverance, determination and bravery.

There are 3 little superstars who deserve a special mention for ‘feeling the fear and doing it anyway’. These children achieved their 25 metres by themselves. An incredible achievement for 4 and 5 year olds.

Four swimming sessions to go and we are excited to watch the progress continue. Who knows? We may be teaching the next Rebecca Adlington or Michael Phelps.

New bikes and trikes

Our new bikes and trikes have arrived and the children can’t wait to try them out.

They are great for burning off energy whilst working on balance, co-ordination and spatial awareness.

Coming Up Diwali Celebration Day

On Friday 10th November we will be celebrating Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights in school.

We’ll be having a special themed lunch that day.
