Our brand new Nursery opens in September 2023 and will accept 3-4 year olds. The 26 place Nursery will be open 38 weeks of the year and will also include longer hours for working parents via Breakfast and After school care.
We cannot wait to welcome our youngest children and families to our EYFS Team to start a fun-filled journey of excellence where children love to spend their days.
We believe that children are intrinsically capable of amazing things and we want to foster their love and curiosity for the world and nurture the passions and interests that they are keen to explore. Our ethos strongly promotes that each child is unique. We want to embrace children’s individuality and independence so they can each reach their full potential and flourish under the care of our highly trained staff who will care deeply about them and provide a wealth of creative and active learning opportunities.
We support children’s personal, social and emotional development along with communication skills and children will learn through play and a child-centred, enquiry based approach to learning. The provision across all areas is meticulously planned based on precise assessments of the children to meet their changing needs. Through careful observations and planning, the children enjoy free access to a rich, varied and resource filled environment and stimulating and multi-sensory activities.
To achieve the best for our children, we must get to know them really well and this goes hand in hand with knowing our families really well. We want to work in partnership with parents and will go the extra mile to ensure there are opportunities for you to come into school and be part of your child’s learning and our special school community. It takes a village to raise a child and we will certainly be keen to use your expertise and talents to educate our children and gain your views and feedback so we are reflective, always striving to improve and provide the best possible education.
Our Nursery and Reception classrooms have adjoining doors and a shared outdoor area so it’s a real team approach and children can share and access learning opportunities and resources to benefit everyone. Our Nursery is led by qualified Teachers and one of the tremendous benefits of our school Nursery is the high quality staffing and education provided, teaching phonics and promoting a love for reading will be a priority along with
physical activity and enjoying the outdoors. Nursery children can visit their own library and specialist D&T classroom for cooking, use the studio hall for gymnastics and dance and be part of the wealth of school opportunities available such as trips, visitors, concerts, community events and specialist teachers for music. Of course the other real benefit is that our Nursery will give the children a taste of school life, they will be able to interact with older children, get to know our Headteacher, play in our grounds and become familiar with a school routine. Our Reception Classes and Nursery form a cohesive Early Years department ensuring that your child’s transition to school and Reception Class is seamless.
Please also see our ‘Starting School’ tab which also talks about the Early Years Years Education for nursery.
